“What impressed me the most was just how simple the software was to use.”

Teacher and Artisan

Many of the users in the CarveWright Forum are familiar with the name Jeff Birt.  A vast majority of you have at some point in time posted a question, and it was answered by Jeff.  There is also a good portion of you who seek out Jeff when you are stumped, and you need an expert’s advice.  Many of you have chatted with him, or have at least read some of his advice, but now it’s time to meet the man himself.

Jeff is a happily married man and resides in Missouri with his wife and 2 beautiful children.  He has a degree in Electrical Engineering, and now works in Electrical Research at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.  Jeff teaches various lab classes at the university, as well as assists with various student programs and organizations.  He even assisted a group of students to build a solar-powered car.

Jeff purchased his CompuCarve in December 2006 after seeing a commercial on television.  With his previous experience in CNC machines and CAD/CAM packages, he was confident he could find some use for the CompuCarve.  Almost immediately after beginning his adventure into the software, Jeff was impressed, “What impressed me the most was just how simple the software was to use!”  Along the way, like most new users, Jeff came upon the CarveWright Forum.  Even with his vast expertise with CNC systems, Jeff had questions and needed answers, and the forum was just what he needed.  In no time at all, he started to realize that he was getting fairly proficient with his CompuCarve and the software, and decided to start assisting others who needed help.  Now Jeff says, “I spend more time helping others than I do on my machine.  I’m not one of those guys who will put 100 hours a month on my machine.”  Speaking to him, it almost seems as though he gets more joy and pleasure from helping others, which is reflected all across the forum.  His wisdom, vast knowledge and experience are well appreciated by his fellow users and by CarveWright.  He is very selfless and is always more than willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs help with their machine.  He can be found in the forum under the name Jeff_Birt,or at www.allcw.com
